Courses

Liceo Classico/Secondary school with emphasis on humanities

This course is addressed to the study of classical civilization and humanistic culture.

Liceo Scientifico/Secondary school with emphasis on sciences

This course is addressed to the study of scientific culture and humanistic tradition.

Scienze applicate/Secondary school with emphasis on technology

This course is addressed to students who want to reach particularly advanced abilities in studies concerning technological-scientific cultures such as mathematical, physical, chemical and biological sciences, computer science and their employment.

Liceo Linguistico/Secondary High School with emphasis on modern languages

Language proficiency in English, Spanish, and Russian, alongside cultural studies.

Relations with our school

• Principal & Staff: Available by appointment.
• Class Coordinators: Intermediaries for academic and behavioural concerns.
• Teachers: Weekly availability.
• Parent-Teacher Meetings: Held thrice yearly for updates and support.

Students and parents have their representatives, two for parents and two for students, who are elected every year. The assignation of the term’s marks takes place in the presence of  teachers and Headmaster. The parent-teacher class committee checks the teaching-learning process, expresses opinions on extra lessons and in-depth study courses, the choice of school textbooks, trips and guided tours.

Administrative office

• Administrative Office: Open daily (Mondays to Fridays) from 11:00 to 13:00 for administrative tasks.
• Refreshments: A bar and vending machines are available.
• Photocopiers: Accessible using prepaid cards sold at the Secretary’s Office.
• Insurance: All students are covered by regional and supplementary insurance.
• Video Surveillance: Ensures safety while maintaining privacy (no recordings).

Transports

• Railway: TRENORD Milano (Meda station, 10 minutes’ walk).
• Bus Lines: CTNM (Meda-Lentate-Saronno and Copreno-Seregno) and STP (Cantù-Meda-Monza).

Sections from School Regulation

• Justifications for absences, early exits, or delays must always be recorded in the electronic register. The teacher of the first lesson will verify these justifications.
• Early exits are permitted exclusively after the conclusion of the third period (10:45 AM), as per Article 12 of the School Regulations.
• As per Article 12 of the School Regulations, late entries are permitted ONLY UNTIL the beginning of the third lesson (9:50 AM). After this time, the gates will be closed. On the same day, it is not permitted to both enter late and leave early.
• Permissions exceeding the maximum of four per term must be documented and fall into one of the following categories:
  • Medical visits or examinations, with submission of documentation.
  • Transportation strikes.
  • Snow or exceptional weather events.
  • Competitions or events where the student is a participant.
  • Additional requests for family reasons, only if documented in writing.
• If the specified limit is exceeded, the student will be authorized only by the School Office upon presentation of the required documentation.

Gate Closing Times

• After 8:10 AM, the gates will remain closed until the beginning of the second and third lessons: students WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ENTER SCHOOL BEFORE THESE TIMES.
• Authorized late entries and early exits for unaccompanied minors require prior communication via phone or email by the parents to the address: mbps20000g@istruzione.it.

Conduct and Attendance

• The number of absences and permissions is a factor considered in determining the conduct grade.
• Smoking is prohibited in all indoor spaces and outdoor areas of the school.
• Only one student is allowed to leave the classroom at a time during lessons.
• The use of mobile phones is prohibited during all educational activities unless authorized by teachers in accordance with school regulations.

Care for Equipment and Facilities

• Before lessons begin, School Support Staff will note any damages or malfunctions of equipment and furniture in classrooms and laboratories. Any damages or malfunctions occurring thereafter will be the responsibility of the individual or class where the issue is identified.
• Students are prohibited from independently using multimedia equipment.
• Motorcycles and bicycles must be orderly parked under the arcades. The school assumes no responsibility for their supervision, as with all other personal items.
• For the smooth flow of traffic for motorcycles, bicycles, and cars during entry and exit times, the entrance pathway must remain clear. Entry and exit of motorcycles (engine off) and bicycles must always occur through the gate near the storage area. Circulating within the school courtyard is strictly prohibited.

Office Hours

• Students: During the break from 10:50 AM to 11:05 AM and after lessons until 1:00 PM.
• Parents: Appointments can be scheduled at the link: https://liceomeda.edu.it/servizio/prenotazioni_online/.

Communication and Notifications

• All communications for students will always be published on the school’s website: liceomeda.edu.it. These methods serve as official notification. Parents are therefore invited to regularly check for updates, as well as to verify grades, absences, delays, and communications in the Electronic Register.
• For communications with the Administrative Office, emails can be sent to: mbps20000g@istruzione.it.

Alternative Activities

• Students not participating in Catholic Religion classes may dedicate their time to individual study in designated areas or request late entry/early exit.

Insurance

• As decided by the School Council, students who have paid the related fee upon enrolment are insured under a policy stipulated by the school. For information, contact the Administrative Office.

Video Surveillance

• A video surveillance system is installed in the corridors of the upper floors to ensure constant supervision of students in all spaces.
• Privacy protection (Legislative Decree 196/03 and EU Regulation 2016/679) is guaranteed as video surveillance is not subject to recording.
